Denver Community Overview
The Vietnamese community in Denver has a large presence along South Federal Boulevard, where there are dozens of Vietnamese and other Asian restaurants, but the community is spread out throughout the Denver Metro region. According to the Colorado Statistics and Demographics (US Census 2000), there were 4,559 Vietnamese people in the city of Denver. That was 0.82% of the Denver population. There were 15,457 in the state of Colorado.

A non-profit organization that works with Vietnamese older adults (50 years and older) providing social support, education opportunities, news resources and spiritual and physical help to members. The group organizes English and Vietnamese, citizenship and special interest classes for members as well as outings, educational and social activities. Their location serves as a Senior Center with resources such as newspapers, magazines a TV and refreshments.

Vietnamese Heritage Camp

The Vietnamese Heritage Camp serves as a post adoption resource and advocate for families with adopted children from Vietnam. They hold annual heritage camps, which provide culturally relevant and family-centered experiences for every member of the family. The camps include culturally relevant workshops, a market, cultural villages, and ethnic food.

The group works to unite the Vietnamese community through the golfing sport in hopes of not only creating a new way of cohesion among Vietnamese-Americans, but also to expand such a well-embraced American sport among the community. Furthermore, we seek to provide a means of governing and conducting inter and intra-club competition.
What is going on in Denver this month?
During the month of March, Global Denver observes the National Day of Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Ghana, Greece, Ireland, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Pakistan and Tunisia. Additionally, we commemorate the Irish-American Heritage Month. This month the City of Denver offers same great entertainment such as: 48th Annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 36th Annual Denver March PowWow, and Wines of South Africa presented by the International Wine Guild. Some great concerts include the Good Fortune Concert, Give Your Heart to Haiti Benefit Concert, and Marcus Tardelli Brazilian Guitar. The month of March also includes notable presentations such as: India- (Past, Present and Future), Doing Business with Japan- An Introduction, and Take Your Innovative Venture to France.
